Tour our small town museums for a glimpse of Southern Indiana history. The Vallonia Museum features agricultural and pioneer history and includes a replica of the old trading Fort Vallonia. The Jackson County Historical Museum in Brownstown ( http://www.seymour.org/history/default.html ) exhibits rare newspapers, uniforms, and information about county residents. The Historical Society has a pioneer village on the property as well as a unique Revolutionary War Monument dedicated to the 34 veterans who are buried in Jackson County. The Freeman Airfield Museum is located at Freeman Field in Seymour. Dedicated to preserving the history of the men and women who served at the field during WWII, the museum has uniforms, artifacts, photographs, and parts of European airplanes. The Freeman Airfield once housed pilots undergoing advanced pilot training and also the famed Tuskegee Airmen.

Schneck Medical Center in Seymour Indiana is a state-of -the-art facility emphasizing individualized care and serves the Jackson County Indiana area as well as much of south central Indiana . Seymour Indiana has a modern facility, Crothersville Indiana and Medora Indiana both have libraries and Brownstown Indiana is served by a facility. In addition to one of the areas largest selections of novels and reference books, the library system offers video tapes, VCR's, books on tape, films, art prints, records, magazines and newspapers. Computer and internet services are provided for use by the public along with photocopiers, fax and laminating machines. Meeting rooms are available for community organizations, computer training programs are available, and a large bookmobile covers the county on a regular basis.
