Muscatatuck Park- Vinegar Mills State Park was created as Indiana's fourth State Park in 1921. Soon after in 1922, the name was changed to Muscatatuck State Park. Muscatatuck is an Indian word which means "land of the winding waters". The park was given back to the county in 1968. Today, the park offers many amenities such as camping, shelter houses, fishing, basketball & sand volleyball courts, open fields, playground, picnic areas, wildlife marshes, bouldering, and hiking & biking trails. The park is also home to the Walnut Grove One Room Schoolhouse and the Jennings County Visitors Center. While at the park you can also visit the Vinegar Mill site and its newly constructed shelter. 812-346-2953

North Vernon City Park- Originally created in 1882 to seelcome, to where the pavement ends...and nature & history begin. Nature and history prevail in Jennings County. The Muscatatuck River meanders lazily river as fairgrounds for the county, the city of North Vernon acquired the land in 1954. The park has many amenities such as a swimming pool, basketball courts, tennis courts, playgrounds, softball & baseball diamonds & leagues, and shelter houses. The park is also host to the Gus Macker 3 on 3 basketball tournament, and a Farmer's Market. The Farmer's Market is held May through October on Monday, Wednesday, & Saturday.
